If the Lexmark X5150 is powered on before the scanner has been unlocked, you will hear a clicking sound.
NOTE: The scanner lock is ON during the shipping of the printer. Please refer to How to Unlock the Scanner on the Lexmark X5150 for the steps for unlocking it. The lock is situated on the left, under the scanner bed. To unlock the scanner, lift the scanner bed and push the red switch towards the back of the machine. When the scanner has been unlocked and powered on, the Hardware Error 0502 message may appear.
1. Switch off the printer using the power button.
2. Disconnect the power cable from the back of the Lexmark printer X5150.
3. Leave the power cable disconnected for 40 seconds.
4. Reconnect the power cable and switch the printer on again.
5. When the printer powers up, you will need to select the desired settings.

When you try to run the Clean option from the Ink Cartridge menu, the following message may appear: Hardware Error 0504.
To resolve this issue - How to fix:
1. Take both cartridges out of the printer.
2. Switch off the printer using the power button.
3. Disconnect the power cable from the back of the Lexmark X5150.
4. Leave the power cable disconnected for 40 seconds.
5. Reconnect the power cable and switch the printer on again.
6. Reinstall the ink cartridges.
